Winter weather impacts

News Flash - Home Posted on February 22, 2026

Ahead of the anticipated winter weather, the Department of Public Works would like residents to know that trash collection will be one day behind schedule the week of Monday, Feb. 23. Both Thursday and Friday trash routes will be collected on Monday.

We'd also like to remind our residents to help aid please help out our clearing crews by:

  • Parking off street. This allows our snow plows to clear the street with greater ease.
  • Avoiding unnecessary travel during peak snowfall.
  • Shoveling out nearby hydrants to ensure first responders have easy access in the event of an emergency.
  • Reporting outages to PSE&G
  • Having patience. Our Public Works crews will begin by plowing major roads before neighborhood and connecting streets are plowed as conditions allow.

Our First Responders also ask that motorists avoid parking on Main Street near the top of Stokes Hill as last snow storm the road  became impassable for fire trucks due to the volume of cars.

Successful clearing of snow takes all of us working together. We appreciate our residents’ patience & cooperation as our staff work to keep our roads safe.
