[ARCHIVED] Build up your youngster's robotics skills with fall offerings

Three students watch as a 3D printer goes to work.

Moorestown Parks and Recreation is offering three different robotics classes at the same time for those in grades K through 6.

3D Printing:

Our experienced CAD and 3D printing instructor will guide the kids on how to use Google Sketch Up to create simple and fun CAD projects. This class will focus on designing drones which will then be printed.  Students will learn how easy it is for one to turn their own imagination into plastic reality by making houses, buildings, toy planes and much more.  3D printing will be on site so the children can watch their imagination printed in plastic. Each child will be provided their own laptop. This offering is for students in 2nd through 6th grade.

Jurassic Park:

Obsessed with Dinosaurs?  Signup for our Jurassic Park program where students will learn all about dinosaurs, how they evolved, what they ate, and why they're now extinct.  Learn to use commands (code) control sensors and motors to create your own moving dinosaurs out of LEGO bricks.  Each student will be have their own laptop to work on. This offering is for students in Kindergarten through 3rd grade.

Minecraft:

Virtual Reality is a sandbox construction game created by Mojang AB founder Markus "Notch" Persson, inspired by Infiniminer, Dwarf Fortress, Dungeon Keeper as well as Notch's past games Legend of the Chambered and RubyDung. Gameplay involves players interacting with the game world by placing and breaking various types of blocks in a three-dimensional environment. In this environment, players can build creative structures, creations and artwork on multiplayer servers and single player worlds across multiple game modes. In addition, this session allows the students to see their programs through Virtual Reality. Have fun and build your own games with action sequence in a multiplayer world.  Students will code their own game and play against multiple players. This offering is for students in 2nd through 6th grade.
