John J. "Jake" Van Dyken graduated from Bowdoin College as a biology/pre-medical major with a focus on genetics. After graduating from New York Law School in 2001, he clerked for both the Assignment Judge and Presiding Civil Judge in Passaic County, New Jersey. He joined Siciliano & Associates in 2018 after spending nearly twenty years as a litigator in New Jersey with a focus on defending civil suits against individuals and companies in varied legal arenas including personal injury, commercial litigation, and professional liability. He now heads the Personal Injury and Litigation Group at the firm. His past experience also includes representing high net-worth individuals in commercial disputes as well as Fortune 500 companies in high-value personal injury lawsuits.
In addition to litigation, Van Dyken regularly serves as a consultant to many local small businesses regarding corporate governance, contract review, commercial litigation, and related matters. He also regularly handles real estate disputes and transactions; will formation and disputes; and family law matters especially final restraining order hearings.
Since moving to South Jersey and his home in Moorestown, he has become very involved with the community’s recreation department volunteering as a soccer coach for his daughters for the last seven years. Van Dyken is active in the local Bar Association and was named Co-Chair of the Personal Injury Committee for the Burlington County Bar Association. He regularly volunteers his time to South Jersey Legal Services where he primarily handles domestic violence restraining orders for women with minimal financial resources available.
