Moorestown Township is exploring the potential creation of a historic district that would include commercial properties along Main Street and Chester Avenue.   

The public’s feedback would ultimately guide the township in the creation of a Historic Preservation Ordinance. The ordinance will set forth the final Historic District’s boundaries as well as establish a Historic Preservation Commission, which will ensure proposed projects in the Historic District maintain the building’s historic integrity.

Mooretown Township is committed to preserving the township’s rich heritage and looks forward to the community’s feedback to help guide these efforts. Following the public input phase, the historic preservation initiatives may be formally considered by the Township Council in the coming months.
